Acceptance
By downloading or using Pilgrim, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
What Pilgrim is
Pilgrim is a free, open-source iOS app for intentional walking. It records walking routes, voice memos, and meditation sessions. It is not a navigation app, emergency tool, or fitness device. Do not rely on Pilgrim for wayfinding or safety.
Your data
All data you create in Pilgrim — routes, recordings, reflections — belongs to you. It is stored on your device and is your responsibility to back up. We do not have access to your data and cannot recover it if lost.
Open source
Pilgrim's source code is available under the GNU General Public License v3.0. You are free to view, modify, and distribute the source code under the terms of that license.
Acceptable use
You agree to use Pilgrim in a manner that is:
- Lawful and respectful of others
- Safe — always be aware of your surroundings while walking
- Consistent with these terms
Share Your Walk
When you share a walk, you create a publicly accessible web page. You are responsible for the content you share, including any voice transcriptions. Shared pages are ephemeral but may be cached by search engines or other services before deletion. Do not share content that is private, sensitive, or that you do not have the right to publish.
Disclaimer of warranties
Pilgrim is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that recorded data (including GPS routes, step counts, or voice recordings) will be accurate.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developers of Pilgrim shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, arising from your use of the app.
Walking safety
Walking involves inherent risks. Always be aware of traffic, terrain, weather, and your physical condition. Pilgrim is not a substitute for personal judgment. Do not use Pilgrim in a way that distracts you from your surroundings.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Pilgrim after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
